This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results. This role will sit onsite, likely in a hybrid capacity, at the location(s) listed in this posting. The anticipated term of this engagement will be 8 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs. TIAA has entered into a definitive agreement to sell TIAA Bank to new investors with extensive experience in financial services, as part of the company’s strategy to refocus on its core retirement business and Nuveen, the company’s asset manager. When the transaction is complete, in 2023, TIAA will retain a non-controlling stake in the bank, demonstrating the company’s confidence in the bank’s future success CW-Customer Service Specialist II
The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for handling questions, comments, and complaints regarding the company's products or services. Under moderate supervision, this job is the first line of support to resolve routine customer issues. The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for providing a positive customer experience and enhancing relationships between customers and the company.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Answers inbound customer service calls and provides entry-level troubleshooting and resolution to routine customer issues.

  • Provides outstanding customer service to ensure service levels are achieved and exceeded.

  • Responds to a high volume of low complexity general inquiries (e.g., general product and pricing information, billing issues, etc.).

  • Provides responses to customer inquiries based on pre-determined scripts and other response guidance tools.

  • Refers customers to published materials, secondary sources, or more senior staff.

  • Documents customer feedback and complaints.
